The configuration shown comprises Mica IR missiles and Meteor air-to-air AR missiles, three-bomb pylons each equipped with three AASMs - 3x 2000 litre tanks - and the lateral Damocles AV pod. The Rafale omnirole combat aircraft is produced in single-seat and two-seat versions. Different models are made for the Air and Space Force and the Navy, although they share a large number of similarities.The Rafale C is the single-seat version used by the Air and Space Force. With a 9,500 kg external payload, it can carry out a broad range of missions that previously required the use of many different specialist aircraft: air superiority and air defence, air-to-ground strikes, deterrence, aerial reconnaissance, etc. With its multi-faceted weaponry and sophisticated equipment, the Rafale C can carry out multiple mission types during a single sortie, such as reconnaissance, ground strikes and air-to-air defence. Such performance has won over a number of export customers. Already a user of the Mirage 5, Alpha Jet and Mirage 2000, the Egyptian Air Force has purchased 55 Rafales. The Egyptian single-seat version is called the Rafale EM. The aircraft operate from Berigat air base and are deployed in the 34th Squadron “Wild Wolves” and the 203rd Tactical Fighter Wing “Storm”.
